I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE taking a nice long, warm bath. Not necessarily to get clean, but rather just to relax and unwind. Tired and sore muscles just seem to melt away in the bathtub. My emotional and physical well being depend on regular baths.
I’m always skeptical of store bought items and so I love Homemade recipes for things like Bath Bombs which are fun and help you relax. Plus these DIY Bath Bombs have natural ingredients that help you relax, unwind, and heal your body. Plus they are easy to make!
Here is what you need:
- 1 cup Baking Soda
- 1/2 cup Epsom Salts
- 1/2 cup Citric Acid
- 2 tablespoons Organic Coconut Oil
- 3 teaspoons Water
- 4-5 drops of Certified Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils (Found Here)
The flavor of Essential Oil is up to you. Lavender is great, Jasmine is also good. Peppermint is invigorating, any of the citrus oils smell nice. Be careful to choose oils that work well on your skin.
Mix all dry ingredients in to one bowl and all the wet ingredients in to another bowl
Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry while stirring. You might see a little fizzing when they begin to mix, but that’s OK just keep stirring. Once they are fully mixed, the mixture should feel like damp sand.
You will need something to form the bath bomb in such as a mold or muffin tin. Add a few drops of olive oil to each individual muffin molds and rub it around the area which will allow the bath bombs to come out easier. Then just add the bath bomb mixture to the muffin pan and press in firmly. Allow a little room at the top because the bath bombs will expand a little.
Let them dry at room temperature for at least 3 hours or until dry and hard to touch. Depending on their size, you may need to leave them out overnight.
Just drop one in to your bath tub in warm water and enjoy.
