DIY Moisturizing Lotion

I’ve never really had success with store bought lotion. It soaks in to your skin really easily and moisturizes for a little while, but I always end up putting on more and more. Plus you never really know what is in store bought lotion. That’s why I love this lotion recipe, I know what’s in it because I made it with high quality ingredients that I sourced myself and it works great!

What You Need:

  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Organic Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 cup Beeswax
  •  1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • 2 tbsp Shea Butter
  • Your Favorite Essential Oils (Found Here)

Heat about 2 inches of water in a large sauce pan on medium low heat.

In a glass bowl add all the ingredients together except the Essential Oils.

Put the glass bowl in to the sauce pan and begin to melt the ingredients together. Be careful not to get water in to the glass bowl.

Once the ingredients are melted together, remove from heat and add the Essential Oils.

Stir in the Essential Oils well

You can then transfer your mixture to smaller airtight containers for storage. After your newly made lotion has cooled you can close the lid and store.
